QA Inspector-Level 1
Experienced certified paint coating inspector. A minimum NACE level 1 or SSPC NBPI paint inspector certification with three or more years’ experience is a requirement for this position. The applicant must have excellent working knowledge of NAVSEA Standard Items. In particular a solid understanding of NAVSEA Standard Item 009-32 (Cleaning and Painting Requirements) and its critical coat processes, appendices under paragraph 3.7. Duties include indoctrination into learning the TruQC paperless system. Possessing strong computer skills in Microsoft office is essential. Utilize the TruQC paperless system for coating inspections for this department and our sub-contractors. Be involved in pre-inspections prior to check point call outs. Perform onboard deck plate check points with the customer’s representative. Possess strong organizational skills. Ability to meet deadlines - other duties assigned by Management. Additionally you will be required to oversee our Paint Dept. and our subcontractor’s quality control by reviewing all the critical coat check points/documents prior to being submitted to the Government.While performing the duties of this job the employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms, wear fall protection and/or a personal flotation device (PFD). The employee will be required to operate a high reach upon certification through this Company. The employee is occasionally required to stand for prolong periods and walk long distances. The employee must be able to navigate stairs, ladders and tank internals (confined spaces) about vessels. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. You may also occasionally be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, heights and other confined spaces. The noise level in the work environment can be elevated, hearing protection is often required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus due to doing a great deal of computer work on a color monitor. The ability to create graphs and charts and reading fine print on various documents and drawings.
